ClickUp is renowned for its flexibility, and the different options available for visualising your tasks is a great example of this flexibility.
ClickUp views give you the ability to have a view perfect for project managers, executives, and then for teams and even individuals.
Read on to discover the options ClickUp views give you and your organisation.
Board View
Most Agile teams use a Kanban board for tasks, and ClickUp provides this in Board View, with a customisable Kanban-like view over your tasks.
The advantage of this view is that it is task-oriented, rather than the date-oriented views such as Gantt and calendar. The board view is ideal for teams, especially those using an Agile framework.
For this to work well with your team, you should set the possible tasks statuses according to the workflow of your team.
GANTT View
Gantt charts have long been the default project visualisation tool in the more traditional project management methods. The advantage of this view is that you can see the dependencies and the estimated duration of tasks.
In ClickUp, with its different views, you don’t all need to use the same view, and so Agile teams might prefer the board view, but product owners, projects, or program managers might prefer the ClickUp GANTT view.
For the ClickUp Gantt view to work, you will need to complete the start and end date for each task.
List View
The list view is the default view in ClickUp, and is perfect for those times when you need a detailed view of your tasks. It works similar to a task list, but organised by status.
In the list view you can customise the columns for each tasks, as well as filter, sort, and export the tasks on the view.
Calendar View
If you prefer to see your tasks organised by date, then the calendar view is for you. As you can see from the image below, the tasks are shown according to their start and end dates, so like the Gantt view, you’ll need to enter the start and end dates for each of the tasks for this view to be meaningful.
Table View
The table view is a different take on the list view, which treats your tasks as though they were in a database table, so you can group or order tasks in various ways, at the click of a button (or two).
This view is idea in a project review setting, where you need to review the defined tasks, having this flexibility is very useful.
Like the list view, you can add columns to view, as well as filter and export the tasks.
Mindmap View
Mindmapping is a powerful technique for mapping connections between tasks, or for organising ideas and concepts. In ClickUp, it is used for visualising the connections between tasks.
Map View
If you have location-based tasks, such as customers in different locations, the map view is a great tool for seeing the tasks according to location.
