Stormboard is an online whiteboard or canvas that has a clean, organised feel, and a range of great features. To me feels somehow different to a service such as Mural (which to me feels more conducive to freeform collaboration) – it feels very organised, and a tool that will help teams and collaborators get organised. It has obviously been designed to ensure everyone walks away from the meetings with a clear view on who did what, and which tasks were assigned to whom. Some terminology – a canvas or whiteboard is actually a Storm in the Stormboard world. I’ll be usually that term in my review.
What Do I Need to Run Stormboard?
Mural works in the browser, with apps available for iOS, Android, Windows, and Surface Hub. Surface Hub support is only available in the Enterprise package.
How Can Stormboard Help My Team?
Stormboard would work well for teams who not only need to collaborate remotely, but also need some structure and organisation. Ever had a team walk out of a meeting, feeling energised at the collaboration, only to forget the assigned tasks for everyone, see who added what to the board and struggle to share the output of the meeting.
What Are Some of the Features of Stormboard?
Whiteboards or digital workspaces are called Storms
Folders to keep your Storms organised (Business and Enterprise Users only)
Team Accounts: you can be added to one or more teams, and see which teams you belong to.

Sticky notes: which are actually embedded whiteboards in the board.
Chat for the Storm
Reports, such as:
- Powerpoint slides for each section of the Storm
- Excel with statistics for your storm, plus the Chat comments, Tasks, Votes
- Word: comprehensive and customisable reports including almost everything from the Storm.

I really like how tasks can be assigned during a session on a board, and on the dashboard page you can see a list of your assigned tasks by storm – really useful for being able to track tasks that have been assigned to you – this can be a pain point after a meeting.
